Summary:
Maggie Werther, LCSW, CAS has been in private practice for 10 years treating adolescents and adults in individual therapy.  She is a certified EMDR therapist and specializes in EMDR therapy and trauma-informed care.  Maggie enjoys working with veterans and first responders, and also works with individuals with anxiety, depression, PTSD, women's issues (postpartum/infertility/motherhood), and specializes in suicide prevention.

Learning Objectives:
  1. This presentation will provide the most recent research and statistics on veteran suicide rates, lethal means, and most common clinical diagnoses among the veteran population
  2. This presentation will provide tips and strategies for working with veterans in psychotherapy that increase the likelihood of successful treatment outcomes when working with this population
  3. This presentation will provide information about how to create a Crisis response Plan with veterans
  4. This presentation will provide valuable resources/referrals for veterans.

Who Can Attend this Event?
This event is free for active CSCSW. Non-members may attend for $45. Current social work students may attend for free after submitting proof of student status (copy of valid student id, current course schedule from registrar, etc).
