Summary:
Introduction to brain/body anatomy associated with trauma and other mental health issues. This presentation will discuss how Neurofeedback can be incorporated as a treatment modality.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify three parts of the Neuroanatomy that is impacted by mental health
  • Gain an understanding of origins and history of Neurofeedback
  • Identify mental health issues that can be treated by Neurofeedback

About the Sera:
Throughout the course of my career, I have learned sometimes traditional cognitive-behavioral therapy does not allow clients to reach their goals. As such, I work from the following modalities: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Neurofeedback. In addition to trauma therapy, I focus on helping clients develop a healthy and strong sense of self, healthy relationships and sexuality, and identify short- and long-term life goals. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I see both victims (survivors) and offenders, which allows me to provide a unique lens into working with both sides of trauma. I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in both Colorado and Wyoming, and soon to be licensed in Arizona.
