Summary: Racial Trauma will be discussed from a historical and systematic perspective. Attendees will learn the epigenetics of racial trauma and will explore disparities that continue to cause emotional and behavioral trauma symptoms. Strategies for establishing trust within the clinical experience will be introduced. Attendees will identify and treat symptoms of racial trauma. Learning Objectives:
About the Speaker: Candice R Dickensis a Counselor Education and Supervision PhD student at Saybrook University. She is a PESI faculty member, has spoken numerous times at the Psychotherapy Networker, NAADC Conference, Black Clinicians, Black Therapist Rocks, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors Conference, The Maryland Tuerk Conference, and Boston University.
