Summary: In the field of social work we are aware of the many layers of the human experience in society, including how poverty or a lack of resources can impact a person, family, or community. Research shows consistently that financial stress is a very common experience, but traditional mental health and financial resources operate separately and as a result may miss opportunities for personal insight around the connections between financial behavioral choices and mental health status.
