Summary:
The purpose of this presentation is to provide information on the topic of sexual pleasure following sexual trauma. While many may be familiar with trauma-informed treatments, sex is often left out of these discussions. This presentation is to help provide information on considerations for assisting clients to reclaim sexual pleasure through a sex therapy lens. The things discussed in this presentation can have implications for treatment considerations for clients who have experienced sexual trauma. This presentation is not meant to replace pre-existing trauma-informed treatment approaches, but to help clinicians better understand the nuances of sex and pleasure.

- Explore possible considerations to assist clients to claim back their sexual pleasure
- Being aware of possible kink practices and how it can be a source of pleasure for survivors

About the Speaker:
Alyssa Glaser, LCSW, CST, has been practicing in the social work field since 2020, shortly after graduating from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Master's in Social Work (MSW). She is a Certified Sex Therapist (CST) through the American Association for Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). She has worked with clients who experience persistent mental health challenges, justice-involved adults, and crisis intervention. She currently owns a private practice called Cultivating Compassion Therapy, PLLC in Broomfield, CO; specializing in OCD treatment, sex therapy, and trauma therapy. While not working in private practice, I work on a Mobile Crisis Team with SAFY of Colorado.

Who Can Attend this Event?
This event is free for active CSCSW members. Non-members may attend for $45. Current social work students may attend for free after submitting proof of student status (copy of valid student id, current course schedule from registrar, etc). CEU certificates will not be issued those who register as a student.
